BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
Mayor Jose Segarra resigned from his position on March 17, 2022. The City Charter provides that the mayor protem acts as the mayor during the absence or disability of the mayor, and, if a vacancy shall occur, becomes the mayor until the next regular election (May 7, 2022).
With Mayor Protem Nash-King becoming the mayor, a new mayor protem needs to be elected amongst the members of the City Council.

Elect a mayor protem this day or elect a mayor protem at a future date.
