BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Dennis Baldwin has served as the Interim City Manager since October 2016.
The City Charter authorizes the appointment of department heads with the approval of the City Council.
DISCUSSION/CONCLUSION
The City Council will appoint a City Manager effective February 8, 2017. Mr. Baldwin will temporarily fill the position of Assistant City Manager to support a seamless transition for the new city manager.
The Assistant City Manager position will be funded through July 31, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds will be available in the Assistant City Manager department budget with approval of a budget amendment.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council approve the appointment of Dennis Baldwin as Assistant City Manager.
