BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Former City Manager Morrison retired from the City of Killeen effective April 5, 2016. Since that date, the City Manager position has been filled in an interim capacity by two different individuals.
DISCUSSION/CONCLUSION
Strategic Government Resources (SGR) managed the recruitment process for the City Manager’s position. The vacancy was advertised in multitude websites and job boards nationally. Subsequently, six (6) candidates were invited to interview. Of those six, Council has reached a consensus to offer the position of Killeen City Manager to Ronald Olson and to approve the attached employment agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT
The agreement specifies an annual salary of $225,000.00, an annual payment of up to $18,000.00 into Mr. Olson’s deferred compensation account, an annual automobile allowance of $7,200.00, and relocation and interim housing assistance of $10,000.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council appoint Mr. Ronald Olson to be the Killeen City Manager and approve the attached employment agreement.
