BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On June 25, 2016, the Killeen-Temple Metropolitan Planning organization (KTMPO) issued a call for projects to update the KTMPO Mobility 2040 - Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). Projects encompassing all modes of transportation are requested, including roadway, bike and pedestrian, and transit. Projects included in the MTP will be eligible for various future sources of local, state, and federal funding based on established priority and funding availability. Funding sources include, but are not limited to Proposition 1, Proposition 7, Surface Transportation and Transportation Alternative funds, and other FAST ACT programs, etc. The nominated projects are anticipated to be needed within the 25 year planning horizon of the MTP. Project submittals are due on August 12, 2016, by 12:00 pm.
DISCUSSION/CONCLUSION
Using the City of Killeen Transportation Capital Improvements Plan, City of Killeen Thoroughfare Plan, and KTMPO Regional Thoroughfare and Pedestrian/Bicycle Plan as a guide, staff developed a list of 108 projects to be included with this project submittal.
