Attending:                     Mayor Pro-Tem Jose Segarra, Council members, Jim Kilpatrick, Shirley Fleming, Brockley Moore, Jonathan Okray and Elizabeth Blackstone

 

Absent:                     Councilmember Juan Rivera

 

Also attending were City Manager Glenn Morrison, City Attorney Kathryn Davis, Dianne Morrow (for City Secretary, Dianna Barker), and Sergeant-at-Arms                      McDaniel.

 

Approval of Agenda

 

Motion was made by Mayor Pro-Tem Segarra to approve the agenda.  Motion seconded by Councilmember Kilpatrick.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

Resolutions

 

RS-15-071                     Consider a memorandum/resolution accepting the Department of Homeland Security SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response) Grant.

 

Fire Chief Jerry Gardner informed those present that the City of Killeen Fire Department has been selected for a Department of Homeland Security Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant in the amount of $4,443,404.00, to fund the salaries of thirty seven (37) new Fire Rescue Officer positions for Fire Station No. 9 for a two year period to begin February 2016 through February 2018.

 

Motion was made by Councilmember Kilpatrick to approve RS-15-071.  Motion was seconded by Councilmember Fleming.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Adjournment

 

With no further business, upon motion being made by Councilmember Segarra, seconded by Councilmember Moore, and unanimously approved, the meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
