Title
Consider a memorandum/resolution appointing Councilmembers to Audit Committee.
Summary
DATE: June 20, 2023
TO: Kent Cagle, City Manager
FROM: Matthew Grady, City Auditor
SUBJECT: Appointments to Audit Committee
BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
Pursuant to Section 3-10 (f) of the Governing Standards and Expectations, City Council generally makes appointments to committees and subcommittees as soon as practicable after the annual City Council election. The Council also makes appointments as vacancies occur.
The Audit Committee is comprised of five members: the Mayor, two Councilmembers, and two
Citizen members. Both Mayor Pro Tem Wilkerson and Councilman Adams were on the Audit Committee. Their departure created two vacancies on the Audit Committee.
The City Auditor has several items he would like to bring to the Audit Committee for review and approval, and therefore the sooner the vacancies are filled the better.
At the June 20, 2023 City Council Workshop, Councilmembers Ramon Alvarez and Councilmember Michael Boyd were selected fill the two Councilmember vacancies on the Audit Committee.
