DATE: August 20, 2024
TO: Kent Cagle, City Manager
FROM: Holli Clements, City Attorney
SUBJECT: Dissolution of the Crime Solutions Committee
BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
The Crime Solutions Committee was established by City Council in March 2021 (RS-21-033R). When created, the concept was that various entities and citizen groups would comprise the committee.
On August 6, 2024, City Council discussed the dissolution of the Crime Solutions Committee citing the availability of other opportunities for the City to engage in crime solutions and the cancellation of meetings due to lack of a quorum. City Council passed a motion of direction to dissolve the Crime Solutions Committee. Because the committee was established by resolution, a resolution is required to dissolve the committee.
