SUBJECT: Increasing the number of directors of the Killeen Economic Development Corporation
BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
On March 4, 2025, the City Council approved a motion of direction to add a seat to the Killeen Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) Board of Directors for the President of the Innovation Black Chamber of Commerce.
Currently, the KEDC consists of nine directors, three from the City of Killeen Mayor and City Council, three from the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, and three from the Killeen Industrial Foundation.
The KEDC bylaws state that the number of directors may be increased or decreased by the Killeen City Council. This action would increase the number of directors from nine to ten.

RECOMMENDATION:
Pursuant to City Council’s direction, staff recommends that Council increase the number of directors of the Killeen Economic Development Corporation from nine to ten to add one director from the Innovation Black Chamber of Commerce.
