Consider Minutes of Special City Council Meeting of September 1, 2026

Special City Council Meeting

Killeen City Hall

September 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

 

Presiding:                     Mayor Joseph Solomon

 

Attending:                     Mayor Protem Jessica Gonzalez, Councilmembers Charles Kimble, Beverly Ann Williams, Anthony Kendrick, Mellisa Brown, David Bass and Debbie Nash-King.

 

Also attending were Interim City Manager Kent Cagle, City Attorney Holli Clements, City Secretary Elaine Simpson, and Deputy City Secretary Megan Magallon 

 

Council Member Kimble gave the invocation. Mayor Solomon led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Approval of Agenda

 

Motion to approve the agenda was made by Councilmember Brown and seconded by Councilmember Nash-King. This motion carried unanimously by a 7-0 vote.

Executive Session

Mayor Solomon read the following into the record:

The City Council will, at 1:11 PM, go into Executive Session under the Texas Local Government Code: 551.001, pursuant to 551.074 Personnel Exception.  

 

1. DS-26-078 Discuss and review applications for City Manager position.

 

 

Mayor Solomon adjourned the Executive Session and reconvened the Open Session at 4:10 PM.   

 

There was no action taken on the agenda item.

 

 

 

Adjournment

Mayor Protem Gonzalez made a motion to adjourn at 4:11 PM and Councilmember Kimble seconded. The motion carried without objection.
