TITLE
Consider a memorandum/resolution rescheduling the regular City Council meeting of October 10, 2017 to October 17, 2017.
SUMMARY
DATE: September 5, 2017
TO: Ronald L. Olson, City Manager
VIA: Judy Paradice, Administrative Assistant
SUBJECT: Reschedule City Council Meeting
BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
Section 34 of the City Charter provides that the City Council shall meet regularly, but not less frequently than twice a month. Historically, the City Council has scheduled these two meetings for the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
The second Tuesday of October falls during the national Association of the United States Army meeting. Due to a lack of a quorum, it is requested that the City Council meeting scheduled for October 10, 2017 be rescheduled for another date.
THE ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED:
Which alternative is recommended? Why?
The alternatives considered are to hold the regular City Council meeting immediately following the City Council workshop on October 3, 2017 or move the meeting to October 17, 2017 before the City Council workshop. Moving the regular City Council meeting to October 17, 2017 will allow City Council time to review the information of the October 3, 2017 workshop and provide any follow-up information required for agenda item approval.
