FROM: Laura Calcote, City Secretary
SUBJECT: Amendment to Order for May 6, 2023 General Election
BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
On January 10, 2023, the City Council called the General Election to be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, for the purpose of electing a Councilmember for each of the City's four districts.
Killeen ISD has since indicated their preference to remove the KISD School Administration Building, located at 200 North W.S. Young Drive, as an early voting location, which was listed in the original order calling the May 6, 2023 General Election. This ordinance amends the election order by removing the KISD School Administration Office as an early voting location. The City will still have three (3) early voting locations as follows:
* Killeen City Hall - 101 North College Street
* Jackson Professional Learning Center - 902 Rev. R.A. Abercrombie Drive
* Lions Club Park Senior Center - 1700-B E. Stan Schlueter Loop
Early Voting by personal appearance will be held Monday, April 24th through Tuesday, May 2nd, with the exception of Saturdays, Sundays, and official State or City holidays. Early voting hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except for the first and last day of early voting, the hours shall be 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For the May 6, 2023 General Election those dates shall be Monday, April 24, 2023, and Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
