SUBJECT: Approve a Memorandum of Agreement with Armed Services Young Men's Christian Association

BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:

The Aquatics Division of Parks and Recreation seeks to establish a memorandum of agreement with the Armed Services Young Men's Christian Association (ASYMCA) for the joint use of facilities, aiming to form a robust partnership that enhances community offerings without any financial exchange. By sharing our facilities, we can significantly broaden our collective reach and impact, ensuring that both organizations effectively meet the needs of military families and the wider community.

This agreement will enable the ASYMCA to utilize City-owned Lion's Club Park multi-purpose field(s) at no charge, while the City will have access to the ASYMCA's Natatorium in Harker Heights. This collaboration will foster mutual benefits, optimizing our resources and strengthening our commitment to community wellness engagement. Together, we can offer a diverse range of programs and events that enrich the lives of Killeen residents, making our community more vibrant and connected.

Endorsing this memorandum of agreement is not merely a practical decision; it is a strategic initiative that underscores our dedication to serving the community and maximizing the potential of our shared facilities. We can create a lasting, positive change, ensuring that our residents have access to the recreational and educational opportunities they deserve.
