SUBJECT:                     Canvassing Returns of May 2, 2026 General and Special Elections

BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the City of Killeen conducted a General Election for the purpose of electing a Mayor and three Councilmembers At-Large, and a Special Election for the purpose of electing a Councilmember for District 3.  The Councilmember District 2 race was unopposed, and therefore, was cancelled on March 24, 2026.  Texas Election Code, Chapter 67, and the City’s Charter, Article IX, requires the City Council (governing body) to canvass the election returns and declare the results.
