BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has offered, to the City, the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Grants to provide FY 2015 Federal funding for eligible capital improvement projects at Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport and Robert Gray Army Airfield.
DISCUSSION/CONCLUSION
The City has been offered AIP grants in the amount of $1,300,500 to be used for the development of an Airport Master Plan, engineering for passenger boarding bridge replacement, and the acquisition of wildlife hazard reduction equipment at the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport and Robert Gray Army Airfield. These grants will fund 90% of the cost of these projects. Acceptance of these grants requires the City to make certain assurances related to the continued availability of the facility to the public and compliance with a number of Federal regulations and standards.
FISCAL IMPACT
Acceptance of these grants will provide revenue of up to $1,300,500 in account number 525-0000-383.05-00. Passenger Facility Charge funds will be programmed to satisfy the 10% matching requirement.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Council accept Federal Aviation Administration Grants, Project No. 3-48-0361-024-2015, in the amount of $900,000 and Project No. 3-48-0361-025-2015 in the amount of $400,500, and ratify and adopt all assurances, statements, representations, warranties, covenants, and agreements incorporated into this grant agreement. Also, that it authorize the City Manager to execute any and all necessary grant documents and amendments within the amounts set by state and local law.
