SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP


Presiding: Mayor Joseph Solomon

Attending: Mayor ProTem Jessica Gonzalez, Councilmembers Beverly Ann Williams, Anthony Kendrick, Mellisa Brown, Charles Kimble, and David Bass

Absent Debbie Nash-King

Also attending were Interim City Manager Kent Cagle, City Attorney Holli Clements, and City Secretary Elaine Simpson.

Mayor Solomon called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM.

Mayor Protem Gonzalez gave the invocation. Councilmember Williams led the Pledge of Allegiance.



Approval of Agenda
Motion by Councilmember Brown to approve the agenda and second by Councilmember Williams, motion carried by a unanimous 6-0 vote.


Citizen Comments on Agenda Items

Dr. Sue Neesy Croft spoke regarding DS 26-073.
Dr. Camron Cochran spoke regarding DS 26-073.

Motion by Councilmember Brown, seconded by Councilmember Bass to suspend the rules, Councilmember Kendrick moved to amend the motion to retain a limit of Council speaking no more than two times for three minutes, this amendment was seconded by Councilmember Kimble. Vote on the amendment passed 5-1 (Nay: Brown). Vote on the amended main motion, motion carried 5-1 (Nay: Brown).

A discussion was held with Mr. Stan Schleuter and Mr. Brad Schleuter of the Schleuter Group. The Mayor started the discussion with the Schleuters by referencing the legislative priorities adopted by the City Council.
