SUBJECT: Ratifying the Property Tax Revenue Increase as Required by the Local Government Code

BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:

Local Government Code Section 102.007(c) requires the governing body to ratify the property tax revenue increase if the budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than in the previous year.

In accordance with Local Government Code Section 102.007 (d), the following statement will be included in an Adopted Budget cover page, if approved as presented:

This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year's budget by an amount of $5,673,191, which is a 8.81 percent increase from last year's budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $1,004,701.
