SUBJECT: Change Order No. 2 to the Taxiway E Relocation Contract with TTG Utilities, Inc.
BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
On August 20, 2024, the City Council awarded a contract to TTG Utilities, Inc. for the Taxiway E Relocation Project. A section of Taxiway E at the Killeen Regional Airport required rehabilitation, and, due to updated Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) taxiway design standards, any rehabilitation necessitated relocation.
Change Order No. 2 provides for the replacement of sign panels, installation of an additional concrete flume extending approximately 220 feet downstream from the new culvert to the existing rock gabions, repair of spalled concrete edges at the interface of existing and new pavement for Taxiway E, and reconciliation of final project quantities. These adjustments result in a contract decrease of $343,611.62, representing a 5.03% reduction in the overall project cost. This final change order reconciles quantities, ensures FAA compliance, and closes out the project within budget.
