BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:

 

The Fire Department continues to maintain a standard appearance for all personnel. A standard uniform includes, but is not limited to: Class C T-shirts, pants, boots, and required accessories; Class B button down shirts and required accessories; and Class A dress uniforms. Through this purchase, the Fire Department will continue to have a consistent, uniform presentation across all personnel. Fire Department uniform items and required accessories will be purchased through the Impact Promotional Services, LLC dba Got You Covered Work Wear & Uniforms BuyBoard Contract #670-22.

CONFORMITY TO CITY POLICY:

 

This purchase of goods will be made through the Buyboard purchasing cooperative on contract #670-22. Purchases made through a cooperative contract are exempt from the competitive bidding process as stated in the Texas Local Government Code section 271.102, subchapter F; a local government that purchases goods or services under this subchapter satisfies any state law requiring the local government to seek competitive bids for the purchase of the goods or services.

The FY 2025 expenditure for Fire Department uniforms is $118,731

Future purchases will be assessed annually based upon specific needs at the time.

 

Is this a one-time or recurring revenue/expenditure?

 

This is a one-time purchase for this budget year. Our future purchase needs will be dictated by the items that are damaged beyond repair or nearing expiration.

RECOMMENDATION:

 

Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the request to utilize Impact Promotional Services, LLC dba Got You Covered Work Wear & Uniforms to purchase Fire Department uniforms through Buyboard contract #670-22 in the amount of  $118,731 for FY 25 and that the City Manager, or his designee, is expressly authorized to execute any and all change orders within the amounts set by State and Local Law.
