Attending: Mayor Pro-Tem Elizabeth Blackstone, Council members Terry Clark, Jared Foster, Wayne Gilmore, Steve Harris, Jonathan Okray, and Jose Segarra
Also attending were City Manager Glenn Morrison, City Attorney Kathryn Davis, City Secretary Dianna Barker, and Sergeant-at-Arms Bradley.
Approval of Agenda
Motion was made by Mayor Pro-Tem Blackstone to approve the agenda as written. Motion seconded by Councilmember Gilmore. The motion carried unanimously.
Ordinances / Resolutions
OR-14-017 Consider an ordinance canvassing the returns and declaring results of May 10, 2014 General Election.
The City Secretary read the caption of the ordinance.
AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KILLEEN, TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A GENERAL ELECTION HELD MAY 10, 2014 FOR THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR AND THREE COUNCILMEMBERS AT LARGE.
Councilmember Clark, Councilmember Gilmore, and Councilmember Segarra reviewed the election returns prior to the meeting for verification and accuracy. Councilmember Clark, acting as chairman, read the returns of the election stating the total votes each candidate received and reading Scott Cosper as the winning candidate for Mayor and Elizabeth Blackstone, Jonathan Okray, and Juan Rivera as the winning candidates for Councilmembers-at-Large.
Motion was made by Councilmember Clark to approve OR-017. Motion was seconded by Councilmember Segarra. Motion carried unanimously.
Special Recognitions
Outgoing Mayor Corbin gave recognition to outgoing Councilmember Jared Foster for his service on the Council and presented him with a plaque, a customized street sign and a lapel pin.
Oath of Office & Certificate of Election
The City Secretary administered the Oath of Office.
Standards of Conduct
The City Manager read the standards of conduct.
Call to Order and Roll Call
Incoming Mayor Cosper called the meeting of the new Council to order @ 5:18 and read roll call. Entire council was present.
Ordinances / Resolutions
OR-14-018 Consider a memorandum/resolution designating a Mayor Pro-Tem.
Motion was made by Councilmember Rivera to appoint Councilmember Blackstone as the Mayor Pro-Tem. Motion was seconded by Councilmember Segarra. Motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment
With no further business, upon motion being made by Mayor Pro-Tem Blackstone, seconded by Councilmember Segarra, and unanimously approved, the meeting was adjourned at 5:19 p.m.
