SUBJECT: Authorizing an agreement awarding RFP #25-14 Killeen Convention and Visitor's Bureau Celebration of Beer and Bratwurst Festival
BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:
The Killeen Convention and Visitors Bureau (KCVB) will host a Beer & Bratwurst Festival, a signature event designed to promote tourism and stimulate the local economy. SBG Hospitality was selected as the event coordinator through a competitive RFP process, receiving the highest score out of five (5) proposals. RFP was opened on January 5, 2025, and closed on January 28, 2025. Notice was published on Killeen Daily Hearld on January 5, 2025, and January 12, 2025.
SBG stood out for its proven track record in delivering high-quality, large-scale events, extensive experience in festival planning, and innovative approach to marketing and community engagement. The Beer & Bratwurst Festival will show case local breweries and culinary offerings. The event is expected to generate hotel stays, increase visitor spending, and highlight Killeen as a destination for regional entertainment. The purpose of this event is to create a fun and welcoming experience for both residents and visitors in Killeen.
