Attending: Mayor Protem Nina Cobb (arrived at 5:01 p.m.), Councilmembers Michael Boyd, Jessica Gonzalez, Jose Segarra, Joseph Solomon, and Ramon Alvarez

Absent: Riakos Adams

Also attending were City Manager Kent Cagle, Assistant City Manager Lauren Wilson, Deputy City Attorney Asha Pender, Deputy City Secretary Beatrice Canseco, and Sergeant-at-Arms Marquez

Don Smith gave the invocation. Councilmember Segarra led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Agenda

Motion was made by Councilmember Boyd to approve the agenda, with the exception of PR-23-027, and for that item to be revisited in January 2024. Motion was seconded by Mayor Protem Cobb. The motion carried unanimously (6-0).

Presentations

PR-23-028 Presentation - Bell County Child Safety Check

Bell County Tax Assessor-Collector, Shay Luedeke, presented a check to the City of Killeen in the amount of $172,866.15 collected by the County on vehicle registrations to be used for programs designed to enhance child safety, health, or nutrition, including child abuse prevention and intervention and drug and alcohol abuse prevention; or for programs designed to enhance public safety and security.

Bell County Commissioners Louie Minor, Precinct 4 and Bobby Whitson, Precinct 2 presented a check to the City of Killeen in the amount of $96,540.75 collected by the County on hotel/motel tax to be used for initiatives promoting tourism and the convention and hotel industry.
