SUBJECT: Change Order No. 3 to the Taxiway B Rehabilitation Contract with TTG Utilities, Inc.

BACKGROUND AND FINDINGS:

On August 23, 2022, the City Council awarded a contract to TTG Utilities, Inc. for the Taxiway B Rehabilitation Project. This project includes rehabilitation of taxiway asphalt, adding new 15-foot asphalt shoulders on each side of the taxiway, and removing and replacing most taxiway lighting in the project area. Thus, providing for a safe operating environment for Airport users and to provide long-term economic sustainability for the Airport by decreasing maintenance costs and extending the useful life of the taxiway.

Change Order No. 3 replaces existing electrical infrastructure and signage that is currently not being replaced in the project, along with additional contract time awarded based on construction delays and delivery of electrical equipment.

This Change Order also reduces project quantities for items of work completed and expected to be completed. Additionally, it deletes utility allowances that were determined to not be required after construction began. Therefore, it will decrease the overall contract amount by $271,416.82, which is a 2.58% decrease to the contract amount.

THE ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED:

1. Do not approve Change Order No. 3 to the TTG Utilities, Inc. contract.
2. Approve Change Order No. 3 to the TTG Utilities, Inc. contract.

Which alternative is recommended? Why?

Alternative No. 2 is recommended because adding the work to replace the existing airfield owned guidance signs allows the utilization of available funding to improve additional electrical systems connected to Taxiway B.
